Bill Cash MP pushes Severn Trent Water to hold discussions with Environment Agency over contamination concerns at proposed Blythe Park power station site

Press release 13/11/09

In response to contamination concerns raised by residents and Bill Cash writing a letter to Severn Trent Water, Mr. Cash said:

“I have raised a series of concerns over contamination on behalf of local residents and I am glad that Severn Trent has responded positively by letter. They have assured me that they will now discuss this matter with the Environment Agency to ensure they are considering any potential risks to our public water supplies.”

“The letter also makes clear that if, following discussions, Severn Trent has concerns regarding these activities they will make further representations to the Environment Agency.”

“On top of serious environmental concerns, intensive traffic movement, noise, efficiency, wildlife, landscape, and planning matters, this issue must be properly addressed.”
