Bill Cash MP questions Gordon Brown over Irish arrangements and the ‘re-ratification’ of Lisbon Treaty

Press release 23/06/09

After Gordon Brown delivered his statement today on the European summit, Bill Cash asked:
“Will the Prime Minister understand, contrary to what he has just stated, that the Irish arrangements amend the Lisbon Treaty and fundamentally and greatly extend the Irish protocol of 1992 so that these arrangements affect all Member States and therefore require re-ratification now and must be enacted by a Bill in this Parliament, in Ireland and in all the Member States?” The Prime Minister did not give a full and adequate response to the question.
