Bill Cash MP pressing concerns of those affected by flooding in Stone with relevant authorities – Environment Agency providing regular updates

Press release 26/11/2012

Following the ongoing flooding in the area and across the country, MP for Stone, Bill Cash said:
“If my constituents have any concerns over the flooding and its effect on them, whether that relates to their properties or the use of local road or rail services, then I urge them to contact me and I will take up their concerns with the relevant authorities.
“In the immediate term, the Environment Agency has been providing regular updates on the situation and is continuing to monitor the situation closely.
“There are many areas affected throughout my constituency, particularly with flooding on the A34 at Meaford and the A525 Keele Road in Madeley, with further warnings issued for the River Tean at Upper Tean, Lower Tean and Checkley.
“The Agency has already issued a significant amount of Flood Warnings and Flood Alerts. They have informed me that they have been working together with their partners to respond to flooding incidents, minimise disruption and protect people from flooding.”
